For those of you who are new to the whole experience, The Edge is a middle school camp at Covenant College in Lookout Mountain Tennessee...or Georgia...I forget. It's on the border of the two.
At around 9AM the middle school of 153 Untorn at Covenant Presbyterian will load up and make way for The Edge.
I have a full 3 years of Edge memories from when I was in middle school. Memories so great, I remember leaving my last year, full of tears, thinking I would never come back (I don't cry very often). But I have been blessed with an opportunity to return, this time as a counselor.
I've always wondered what it would be like to return as a counselor, not being able to compete and participate in all the fun-filled events and hang out with my friends.
But I am at comfort with the return based on one fact. This week is not about me.
I am returning with the opportunity to bring about 20 middle schoolers closer to Jesus Christ.
Amidst all of the fun I had at the Edge as a middle schooler I remember being challenged to think deeper and grow myself in the Lord.
It is an exquisite combination of activities with a heavy dose of Jesus.
The Edge is unforgettable, a place to make lifelong friends, a place to break free from comfort zones and a place to scratch the surface of who Christ is.
I just can't wait to get it all started tomorrow.
